Welcome to my world! I love being a wife, proud mother of two, and delighted grandmother of four. My husband Rich, my high school sweetheart, and I have been married for 53 years. Professionally I enjoyed teaching science and language arts, and for a short time, working as assistant manager of a wildlife refuge.
I am especially gratified to be coauthor of a science textbook and other science materials for a major textbook publisher. My biology book is a bestseller in the U.S. and has been translated into several languages. In conjunction with my biology book, I was a science consultant for my publisher for many years. I worked with teachers, chairpersons of science departments, textbook committees, superintendents of schools, and conducted teacher workshops around the country, most years flying over 100,000 miles.
In addition to my career, I always have time for fun. I am inspired by mountain biking, skiing, and hiking in the Colorado Mountains. This state is the perfect place to live except there are no ocean beaches, so on vacations we amuse ourselves walking beaches in many coastal areas from Maine to North Carolina. When the weather isn’t conducive to outdoor pleasures, I have my sewing machine ready to make quilts and other projects, especially those using recycled materials.
Thanks for stopping by!
